ABOUT KERNOW GOLD'S PRODUCTS
Is the Gold Used in Your Collections Mined in Cornwall?
No, currently there are no active gold mines in Cornwall. While gold can be panned in secret river locations within Cornwall, the quantities of gold being found are minimal.
How is a Kernow Gold Design Cornish?
Our designs are distinctly Cornish by collaborating with local goldsmiths and artisans in Cornwall. Each custom commission piece is made in Cornwall, complete with a Cornish maker’s hallmark.
We use recycled gold for commissions, certified conflict-free diamonds, and responsibly sourced gemstones.
We have access to certain gemstones found in Cornwall, such as Amethyst and Quartz.
These designs, processes, and collaborations with local artisans create unique gold jewellery piecs that can be passed down through the generations.
What Does Ethical Gold Mean?
All materials used in our jewellery range are ethically and responsibly sourced. Our UK suppliers of 9ct gold collections are members of the Responsible Jewellery Council, the world standards body for responsible jewellery throughout the entire supply chain.
Their ‘Code of Practice' includes key development frameworks like the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, ILO Principles, and UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Packaging is also plastic free, sustainable or recycled.
Do You Use Cornish Tin in Your Products?
Yes, if required, we use genuine Cornish tin for inlays in our gold jewellery. The tin we use was historically mined in Cornwall, ensuring a unique connection to Cornish tin heritage.
Combining traditional methods and modern designs, we create pieces that celebrate the rich mining history of Cornwall.
Does Kernow Gold Sell Silver Jewellery?
We don't sell silver jewellery in our collections. However, you can explore our range of silver jewellery on our sister website www.sennenjewellery.com. However, incorporating silver in bespoke commissions is possible.
